Saturday Festivities

Hello!

I don't do much on Saturdays. I managed to sleep for almost 11 hours after having a rather disturbing dream involving myself in the land of BBC Sherlock in which I shot Moriarty in the face. I don't go for the whole "all dreams have a hidden meaning" thing - it's cool if you do, but I personally don't believe in it. I'd say that that dream says something about me as a person, but just before I fell asleep I was thinking about how Jim was literally chained up in a padded cell in Sherlock's mind palace and the implications behind that, so the dream obviously had something to do with that.

I also ate healthily all day which was great because I need to get rid of that Christmas weight that I gained! Usually the entire month of December invloves me chain-eating junk food and complaining about gaining weight because of it. Food at Christmas is just so much better than other-time-of-the-year food.

As I (think) I mentioned in a previous post, I'll be attending University in September (if all goes to plan) so I took it upon myself this afternoon to research what societies are available to join at my first choice university and I was thrilled to see that there's a LGBT+ society and a Women's society. As a feminist and supporter of LGBT+ rights, this made me very happy. There's also a Hogwarts and a Laser Tag society which I'm definitely considering joining because how fun do they sound?! I was planning on just going to Uni and doing non-social things and keeping my nose in a book, but I really don't want to do that any more! I'm now thinking of putting myself out there a bit more - probably by joining a few societies and actually trying to make friends (insert internal screaming due to fear here...)

Apart from watching Despicable Me earlier on ITV with my dad, I've really not done much else all day. So currently, I'm watching Come Dine With Me on 4oD and thinking about my lack of a social life. I don't care too much; I like having free time!

Minor Embarrassment, The Extent Of My Unsociableness & Needing To Pee

Hello!

Today was a college day, so I woke up bright and early to get ready. As usual, I ended up arriving forty minutes early, and so I sat there just flicking through my phone, stalking people's Instagram posts when I accidentally clicked on a video.

Now, in the mornings I'm usually one of three people who get there majorly early and the other two know each other and talk like normal people, and then there's me - the unsociable girl on the other side of the room. I'm quite happy with our unwritten rule where I ignore them and they ignore me. Anyway, today only one of them was in early, so it was just me and the boy at the very back and the only sound was pure silence. Until the video I accidentally clicked on started blaring out very loud music and I couldn't shut it up for at least five seconds.

Now, five seconds doesn't seem like a lot until you are literally in that situation. I despise attention and I'm ninety per cent sure he looked up to see what the ruckus was about. Eventually I turned it off and I went straight onto WhatsApp to tell my friend Maya about the whole ordeal. Most people wouldn't be embarrassed by that, but as I said, I despise attention. I wouldn't call myself shy, I just generally don't like spending prolonged periods of time in social situations because they emotionally drain me - communication with people I don't know, acquaintances and even people I class as friends is very difficult for me. I'm over-conscious of the way I talk and how I sound and what facial expressions to make and "do I look stupid pulling this face", "have I made enough eye-contact", etc. It is very, very draining and is the main reason for my staying in all the time. Communication online is so much easier for me. I'm fine with family members and friends who I'm comfortable around, but it takes so long for me to be comfortable around people that it becomes this whole horrid ordeal and it really, really sucks! I honestly do envy people who are natural conversationalists and the sorts.

Anyway, my problems aside and back to today, we watched One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and then answered some questions on it. Luckily I've seen the film before because for the last hour of it, I was desperate for the toilet and could barely concentrate on what was happening because even though we're allowed to just get up and go to the toilet when we please and without permission, I sit right at the front and I'd have had to walk in front of the screen and I'm far too awkward for that. Luckily, we had a break as soon as the movie was over, so no accidents happened!

Since getting home, I've watched Megamind (because I love that film and hadn't seen it for at least a year) and chilled on Tumblr. I also had a pretty tasty jacket potato for dinner but there was so much I literally couldn't eat it all.

That's all for today. Apologies for the lack of pictures - this is probably the wordiest post yet!
Have an enjoyable night!

Skype & Pizza

Hello!

I actually left the house again today! That's twice in one week, wow!

I woke up quite late, and I'd only been awake for about 15 minutes when the postman came with my parcel from DFTBA.com which I'd been waiting for since the end of November (Disclaimer to them: A) The hoodie I ordered was like some kind of pre-order or something and I knew when ordering that it wouldn't be shipped until the end of December so that's all good. B) I live a very long way away from America and it only took 2/3 weeks to get here from the time the dispatch email was sent which is BRILLIANT.) So basically I am in love with my three new tees and hoodie.

1st tee, just so my fellow humans can understand that I am a Potterhead
2nd tee - I couldn't not buy this. After Hank said "DUDE, NO EDGE" I haven't stopped quoting it.
3rd tee - Pizza John. I couldn't NOT buy this, I mean, come on.
My beloved hoodie. I solemnly swear that I will never take it off (unless it needs to be washed in which case yes).
I decided to jump straight in the shower straight after ripping the package open and marveling at the nerd merch and I'd literally just left the bathroom when I got a text from my college friend, Rachel, asking me if I wanted to Skype about some work we had to do.

Of course I said yes, so we Skyped for about an hour, annotating some sheets. I actually like doing work outside of college, so it was pretty fun.

I used the next few hours to chill online for a bit and to decide what I wanted to wear (which ended up being jeans and my DFTBA Hoodie) and with that, my sister and I left to pick up our (but mainly her) friend Billy so we could attend our friend Lauren's 21st birthday gathering in which we all ate pizza and gossiped a lot. I only took one picture all night, and it's of the eerily empty shopping center which you can see through the window. I kind of felt like I was in an abandoned post-apocalyptic land.

Also there was no free WiFi and everyone was wearing smart-casual which made me feel severely under dressed, but I had pizza so I didn't really care.

After dropping Billy back at his house, Tania and I went back home where I, you guessed it, went straight on my laptop.

Bowling & Food!

Hello!

Today I went ten-pin bowling with my friend Nicole; I hadn't been for ages and she won both games quite unsurprisingly! The first game was 82-84 to her and the second was 84-88.

We're not very competitive people (well, my weaknesses are Monopoly and Uno - those games bring out the competitive monster within me) so it was a nice game in which we were literally cheering and highfiving when the other knocked down a decent amount of pins.

2nd game scores, if you can even see them (my photography skills are immense)

After bowling, we had a nice meal and it was really nice to catch up with her after not seeing her in so long - we were both getting pumped up about university in September. If all goes to plan, we'll be attending the same one so we won't be completely alone before making new friends!

Nicole actually goes to my college too, but I'm a very unsociable person and rarely leave my house, so I hadn't seen her since the last day of term. I need to start leaving my house more often!

De-Christmasing The House

Hello!

Today I spent three hours taking down the Christmas decorations and arranging the box they go in neatly while listening to my current favourite album on repeat.

The mess of Christmas

After showering, I thought it'd be fun to put on my cute kilt (which I did) and try out my new mascara. I'm not a beauty blog so I won't name the brand, but it is awful. I'll definitely be getting a new tube of mascara as soon as I can.

After that, I ventured to the land of the internet to do my set English work for college and submit my A2 coursework. I even had tome to chunk up my essay a bit before uploading it, but I probably rambled too much and will have to get rid of at least half of it.

Current favourite show

After that, I watched Bob's Burgers whilst Tumblr-ing, went food shopping with my dad and sister, and then had a mini-feast of new food in my bedroom after putting Bob's Burgers back on. For anyone that watches it, Tina is pretty much an accurate representation of me.

I also got a really nice review on the FanFiction I'm currently working on and got another conditional offer for university (which is exciting seeing as I thought all five that I applied to would reject me!)

Anyway, must dash.

Uneventful Day #1

Hello!
Today I woke up naturally at 8:30am which rarely happens, but I embraced it because I like having more than the four daylight hours that I’d usually have when waking up at noon (or later…).
My dad and sister were at work, so I had the house to myself for a few hours. Usually when I have the house to myself, I get Suzie (my guitar) down from my wardrobe and have some guitar and singing time, which I did nicely.
When my dad got home, he sorted out the gutters because they had dirt in them and because he was on the ladder right outside my bedroom window, I sat on my windowsill and chatted to him for a bit.
My grandad comes over on Sundays, so I let him in just as dad was finishing up and made him some coffee and chatted to him and dad for a while before returning to my bedroom to fill in the parts of my coursework essay that I’ve been avoiding for too long.

I don’t know why I didn’t finish it sooner; I actually enjoy writing essays. I even write them for fun sometimes, I’ll have to start posting them if anyone’s interested.
Anyway, I made pasta bolognese for dinner (using Morrisons meat-free mince, which is actually very nice) and because I have absolutely no portion perception when it comes to pasta, I (as usual) ended up making way too much and had to throw at least a quarter of it away because I was too full to manage any more.

Right now, it’s 8:20pm, which means that Sherlock will be starting in ten minutes, so I’m going to go and watch that with my dad (and possibly my sister if she fancies joining us).
I really enjoyed the one on New Year’s Day; Mark Gatiss adding in little snippets especially for the Sherlock fandom without making fun of us was the best thing ever. Fingers crossed that this week’s episode is just as good!
